Global Citizenship of Indonesia (GCI) is an unlimited stay, multi-entry permanent residency permit specifically designed for foreign nationals with proven Indonesian heritage.
Introduced by the Directorate General of Immigration under the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services (Imipas), GCI is Indonesia’s first true permanent residency framework, granting eligible applicants the right to live in Indonesia for life without repeated renewals or local sponsorship.

GCI is currently the only residency programme in Indonesia designed specifically for the diaspora and their descendants.
GCI is not a general visa for all foreigners. It is strictly reserved for individuals with Indonesian lineage or recognised government collaboration.

GCI does not grant special landownership rights. However, GCI holders may buy property under the existing foreign ownership framework, usually via Hak Pakai or strata-title apartments.
Each GCI category (E32E, E32F, E32G, E32H) carries an official PNBP fee of IDR 34,800,000 per permit.
