Retirement KITAP (Retirement Permanent Stay Permit) – Who is it for and what are the benefits

If you have ever dreamed of packing it all in, seeking to retire, and choosing to stay in Indonesia, then the retirement KITAP provides access to your perfect dream!

The Retirement KITAP is 5-year visa that allows foreigners retiree to live in Indonesia and enjoy their retirement years in one of the greatest countries in the world with tropical island paradises.

Requirements for a retirement KITAP are that the foreigner is over 55 years old and must have held a Retirement KITAP for 4 years prior to application.

Steps to get your Retirement KITAP

  1. Submit Retirement KITAP application at the local immigration office
  2. Attend the Biometric and fingerprint session
  3. Process approval from Immigration Office, Directorate General of Immigration, and Regional Office of Ministry of Law and Human Rights
  4. KITAP completion with the E-KITAP along with Multiple entry re-entry permit

What is the minimum age to apply?

You must be over 55 to apply for any retirement visa in Indonesia.

Can I work with this visa?

You must not work with this visa, it is strictly for retirement purposes only.

Can I retire anywhere in Indonesia with this visa?

Yes, once you have the visa you can retire anywhere you like.

If I decide to leave Indonesia for good or the visa expires, what should I do?

You must obtain an Exit Permit Only (EPO). Contact Lets Move Indonesia and will process it for you.

  • Original sponsorship letter from the sponsor

  • Original Letter of Authorization (Surat Kuasa)

  • Color copy of ID card (KTP) of sponsor (who signs the application letter) 

  • Original passport 

  • Original ITAS Online of 1st – 4th

  • Color copy MERP 

  • Color copy SKTT 

  • Life and Health Insurance 

  • Home lease agreement for at least 1 year
