Research Visa (KITAS) - Who is it for and what are the benefits

The Research Visa (KITAS) is exclusively reserved for only 1 purpose, for foreigners that are doing research throughout Indonesia.

The visa must have a sponsorship, which may be via eligible universities or related ministries. As this is a research visa, it is not applicable for gaining income in a working capacity.

Steps to get your Research Visa (KITAS)

1. Application of E-Vitas C315. This visa is used to enter Indonesia
2. Upon the arrival to Indonesia, the foreigner is required to drop the original passport to our office
3. Attend the Biometric and finger print session
4. E-vitas to KITAS conversion at the local immigration office
5. KITAS completion with the E-Kitas along with multiple entry re-entry permit

How long is the visa validity?

It may be for 6 months or 12 months.

Is this visa multiple entry?

Yes, you may enter and leave Indonesia as frequently as required.

Is the Research visa renewable?

Yes, this visa is renewable.

Document Requirements

  • Expatriate passport with minimum 4 blank pages still available with minimum 18 (eighteen) months validity and scanned copy of identification page and cover 

  • Latest Color photograph with red or white background size 4X6 

  • Address in Indonesia

  • Bank Statement with minimum balance USD 2,000 or equivalent for the last 3 months

  • Curriculum Vitae 

  • Travel Itinerary

  • Proof of guarantee from the Guarantor, which is a research institution

  • Permit from National Research and Innovation Agency
