LetsMoveIndonesia is the proud new sponsor of Jakarta Business Networkers (JBN)

LetsMoveIndonesia believes in the power of networking; it’s one of the reasons we have become Jakarta’s favourite Premium Real Estate Agency in less than a year!

Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the support of those around us and we appreciate the help and referrals our happy customers and friends have provided.

As a wise man once said, “sharing is caring”, and we truly embody this outlook in everything we do.

Jakarta Business Networkers is a shining example of the ‘sharing is caring’ mentality and has been providing excellent business networking events for a number of years, helping businesses, just like ours, grow successfully.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we can officially announce, LMI is the newest sponsor of this brilliant networking event.

LMI chats to Nick Blake, one of the co-founders of JBN, who talks to us about how it all started and how JBN can help your business network grow in the future.

JBN | LetsMoveIndonesia

LMI: Thanks for chatting with us today, lets start at the beginning; how did you come up with the idea for JBN and why did you think it would be a useful networking event for people living in Jakarta?

NB: In first 2 years in Jakarta I attended a lot of Business networking events. Many  of these were more social than business gatherings and whilst enjoyable, did not result in me meeting the right sort of connections to help grow my business. We started JBN to create a referrals network where both local and expatriate business people could connect in the aim of growing their businesses.

LMI: For our readers who have never been before, what happens at JBN and why is it different from the other networking events?

NB: JBN’s difference is our clear focus on business referrals. The sessions are attended by 30-50 business people per session and actively encourage giving referrals to other members and helping each other, rather than selling or self-promotion. Each session consists of a speed networking session, enabling each networker to gain new contacts.

LMI: How do you become a member and what are the benefits of joining JBN?

NB: Companies and individuals can help grow their business by becoming members.  After joining, members benefit from being able to promote and advertise their services at our sessions, can attend our sessions free of charge and can can even apply to be a keynote speaker. JBN members can also invite their colleagues and guests and are also included in our member directory, giving them added visibility. Whether you are a freelancer, Start up or Multinational company, JBN membership can help you to grow your business.

LMI: Do people tend to get referrals or sales on their first visit? If not, what advice would you give them?

NB: Attendance results in credibility and trust. Whilst some networkers have been known to get referrals in their first few JBN sessions, we encourage new attendees to attend regularly and to give referrals to others, rather than trying to sell at the sessions. By giving referrals to others, attendees are much more likely to receive them back.

LMI: Can you give us some tips on how to become a successful networker?

NB: The main tip I would give is networking is not the same as selling. Nobody really sells to someone they only met for a few minutes at a networking event. Networking is not a Get Rich quick scheme; get the chance to meet others and have a coffee or meeting with them and explore ways you can collaborate.

JBN | LetsMoveIndonesia

LMI: Can you tell us about any success stories that have happened to JBN members?

NB: Some of our most successful networkers, both local and international businesses have grown their businesses massively, finding clients, suppliers and even employees through our sessions. Check out our youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5M4Gat5zn6DEOpPxjqiukw to see a series of videos from JBN members sharing their success stories.

LMI: What is next for JBN?

NB: JBN currently holds three events each month, serving professionals in Central, South and West Jakarta. In 2018 we plan to open our next chapter in a new City, watch this space!

LMI: If people want to join future events, how can they join and when are the events held?

NB: Anyone wanting to attend can register to receive their invitation via  http://jbn.bdigital.id/

LMI: Thank you, Nick, for taking the time to speak to us today, we really appreciate your time and look forward to seeing you at the next JBN Event.

If our readers have any questions, how can they contact you?

NB: You’re welcome LMI. For any questions please contact me at [email protected]
