To visit it, citizens of several countries will have to apply for a South Korea visa – although a fair number of them are exempt from visa requirements for short term purposes.

What is it and who is it for?

The Single Entry Visa for South Korea allows foreign visitors to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days per visit, with the visa valid for up to 3 months. This type of visa is available for a variety of purposes, including official government activities, tourism, social and cultural activities, sports, business, family visits, journalism, or transit. It is important to note that the Single Entry Visa does not permit paid work in South Korea.

You need a visa for South Korea unless you are from one of the visa-free countries, which include EU countries, Canada, Australia, and the United States.

Can tourists with visa exemption stay longer?

Those wishing to stay longer than the visa exemption period, applicant must apply for an appropriate Korea visa application form before traveling to Republic of Korea.

Requirements

  1. The photo with 3.5cm x 4.5cm in size, have a white background, be attached to the application form, have been taken within the last 6 months, be in color, and show the applicant’s face from the front.
  2. Required documents for passport include the original passport, one copy of the personal passport information page, and one copy of the immigration stamp page.
  3. Identity proof requirements exist for workers (employment certificate, tax letter), students (student certificate) and entrepreneurs (business license, tax letter). All documents must be under three months old.
  4. Indonesian Family Certificate
  5. Financial documents: Bank transaction details and originals stamped by the bank
