Single Entry Visa Indonesia: The Difference Between Single Entry Tourist Visa And Single Entry Business Visa

There is always enough confusion about deciding which visa you would need to visit every country, not to mention when you are about to stay in Indonesia. There are several types of visa available in Indonesia such as the tourist visa, visa on arrival, multiple entry visa, and many more types of stay permits that could grant foreign nationals a certain staying period depending on their purposes.

One of the most popular of all visas to Indonesia is the Single Entry Visa.  This type of visa has several categories that can be used to enter Indonesia according to the visit intention and purposes, either for business, or tourism. In this article, we will explore the differences between the top two Single Entry Visas, namely B211A (tourist visa) and B211B (business visa).

What is A Single Entry Visa in Indonesia?

In the context of Indonesia, a single entry visa is commonly referred to as a “Single Entry Visit Visa” or “Visa Kunjungan Satu Kali Perjalanan.” It is typically used for short-term visits, such as tourism, social visits, attending conferences or seminars, or conducting business negotiations.

Visa B211A (Tourist Visit Visa)

Visa B211A, also known as the Visit Visa or Single Entry Tourist Visa, is designed for foreigners who wish to visit Indonesia for tourism, leisure, or social purposes. It allows visitors to stay in the country for a maximum of 60 days and can be extended twice for another 60 days with a total stay of 180 days.

Visa B211B (Business Visit Visa)

Visa B211B refers to the Single Entry Business Visa, primarily intended for individuals travelling to Indonesia for business-related purposes. This visa allows for longer stays compared to the Visit Visa, typically ranging from 60 to 180 days, depending on the granted duration.

What is the difference Between B211A Visa and B211B Visa

As the title suggests, here are the key differences between the two types of Single Entry Visas in Indonesia.

Purpose of Visit: The B211A Visit Visa is issued for tourism, leisure, or social purposes, while the Business Visa (B211B) is for business-related activities such as business meetings, conferences, or exploring business opportunities.

Visa Requirements: The requirements for Single Entry Tourist Visa typically include a completed application form, a valid passport, a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds to cover the expenses during the visit, while a Single Entry Business Visa requires a completed application form, a valid passport, a guarantor to issue a sponsorship letter, a detailed itinerary of business activities, and proof of sufficient funds to cover expenses during the stay.

Permitted Activities: Single Entry Tourist Visa: Individuals holding a tourist visa are generally not permitted to engage in any work or business-related activities during their stay in Indonesia. The primary purpose is for leisure, tourism, and social visits. On the other hand, holders of a business visa are allowed to engage in business-related activities, such as attending meetings, and conferences, negotiating contracts, exploring business opportunities, or conducting market research. However, it does not authorize individuals to take up employment in Indonesia.

This visa grants you to stay for a period of 30 days and is extendable for an additional 30 days. To apply for a Visa on Arrival, foreigners can directly visit the Immigration Office at the airport or visit molina.go.id to apply for this visa online.
