Indonesia Public Holidays and Collective Leave Days 2025

The Indonesian government recently released the official list of public holidays and collective leave days for 2025.  With a total of 27 days designated for national holidays and collective leave, it’s time to mark your calendars and get organised.

Planning your year in Indonesia? Before setting off on a trip to another country, it’s vital to be informed about the upcoming public holidays and days off. Whether you’re travelling for business or leisure, staying informed about these dates can really make a difference in the success of your journey.

There are two types of national holidays in Indonesia. The calculation of public holidays and collective leave days in 2025 is based on Presidential Decree Number 251 of 1967, as revised by Presidential Decree Number 3 of 1983. The day’s allocation in 2025 will resemble what is listed below:

  • There are 17 public holidays, which consist of significant religious holidays like Eid al-Fitr (Idul Fitri) and Eid al-Adha (Idul Adha), as well as national holidays like Independence Day, and Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter.
  • 10 Collective Leave Days are strategically spread out around certain public holidays to provide additional time off. The objective is to boost the economy by encouraging domestic tourism.

What Does This Mean for You?

Above all, expect a surge in requests for flights, hotels, and sightseeing spots, particularly in well-liked places such as Jakarta, Bali, and Yogyakarta. To avoid any disappointments, ensure you book your travel and accommodation in advance if you are planning to visit Indonesia during the peak season.

How Public Holidays Affect Your Business Operations

Business owners operating in Indonesia need to be aware of how these holidays may affect their operations, staffing, and customer service.  Adjustments in schedules for essential services may lead to delays in administrative processes, so it is wise to anticipate this.

How Public Holidays Affect Your Visa & Legal Matters

It is important to be aware that Government offices, including Indonesian immigration offices, will be closed on public holidays. This may impact the processing times of visas and other legal Processes. When faced with urgent visa or legal issues, it is recommended to plan ahead and steer clear of scheduling appointments or submissions in proximity to these dates.

To avoid any unexpected delays or complications with your visa or legal matters, it’s best to plan and be proactive.
