Indonesia Announces Plans to Remove Mandatory Quarantine

On Monday 21st March the Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Sandiaga Uno, announced plans to implement a no quarantine policy for overseas travellers throughout Indonesia, as a result of a successful trial period across Bali.

“The results of the joint meeting with the president have announced that a no-quarantine policy will be extended to all of Indonesia. Only PCR tests are required upon entry.”

Under the new proposed regulations, foreign travellers will only be required to adhere to an entrance PCR test. No details regarding whether travellers will have to book certain hotels or they are free to go where ever they choose have been released as of yet.

Please note that although the intention is clear, at this specific moment of writing an official circular is yet to be released, although the intention is to officially implemented by 22nd March. Once full details are released, we shall insert the official circular, paired with key highlights.

Regardless of quarantine or not, strict health protocols will still be in place.

“We should be grateful for the increasingly controlled handling of the pandemic, the result of implementing health protocols which are also strictly adhered to and disciplined.”
