Visa on Arrival 2022: Electronic VOA Now Available for 27 Nationalities

On 5th November 2022, Indonesian immigration authorities announced that the Visa on Arrival was now possible to obtain online prior to entering Indonesia. The news that the electronic Visa on Arrival (e VOA) is now possible directly to Indonesian authorities is great news for travellers entering Indonesia who can essentially skip the VOA queue when they arrive.

In 2022, there were 27 nationalities that may now process the electronic Visa on arrival:

Update Visa on Arrival September 2023

As of September 2023, The Indonesian government has expanded its Visa on Arrival and e-visa program by including Armenia, Mozambique, and Tanzania in the list of countries eligible for these travel options. This move aims to further promote tourism and facilitate entry into Indonesia for citizens of these nations. Travellers from Armenia, Mozambique, and Tanzania can now conveniently obtain their visas upon arrival or through the online e-visa application system, making their visits to Indonesia smoother and more accessible.

Designated points for electronic Visa on Arrival

Currently, there are 2 designated points of entrance for eVOA holders, they are Soekarno Hatta International Airport (Jakarta) & Ngurah Rai International Airport (Bali).

How much is the electronic Visa on Arrival?

The e-VOA should cost US$35.

How can I process my electronic Visa on Arrival?

You can apply via the government website: Molina.imigrasi.go.id

How long does it take to apply for an e-VOA?

According to authorities, it should only take approximately 5 minutes online.

What are the requirements?

You will need to upload basic details such as Name, date of birth, phone number, passport details and email.

Additionally, you will need to upload a copy of your biography page in your passport, as well as a current colour softcopy passport picture of yourself.

Will I need a stamp on my passport?

The visa will electronically be linked to the passport, we assume that a stamp or sticker will be applied when entering Indonesian immigration check points.

Please note, that the electronic Visa on Arrival only allows you to skip the VOA payment queue, you will still need to pass the immigration check point, so there may still be queues.

What activities can I do using the Visa on Arrival?

Foreigners entering Indonesia using the visa on arrival may engage in the following activities: Tourism, Government duties, business talks, purchase of goods, meetings and transit.
