D12 Pre-Investment Visa – Who is it for and what are the benefits
Multiple Entry Pre-Investment Visa is applicable to foreigners who carry out activities to start a business, including field surveys and/or feasibility studies (multiple entry visa).
This visa has 2 types of validity periods; 1 year and 2 years of stay and extendable with 180 days of stay permit per visit within a year for as long as the visa is still valid.
Upon receiving your e-visa via email, you have a 90-day window to enter Indonesia from the specified release date. To ensure a smooth and timely visa application process, it’s highly recommended to double-check your flight details and submit your application at least one month before your intended travel date.
Validity Periods of Multiple Entry Pre-Investment Visa Indonesia
The Multiple Entry Pre-Investment Visa Indonesia has two types of validity periods: 1 year and 2 years. Both types of visas are extendable with 180 days of stay permit per visit within a year for as long as the visa is still valid.

Is business allowed with this visa?
No, the Single Entry Pre-Investment Visa is specifically designed for pre-investment activities such as:
- Conducting market research and feasibility studies.
- Meeting with potential partners or investors.
- Attending conferences or exhibitions related to your business interest.
- Handling basic administrative tasks with local organisations.
It is not intended for active business operations like selling goods or services, receiving payments, or setting up a company. If you intend to conduct business, you would need a different visa, such as a Business Visa.
What activities can I do with a Multiple Entry Pre-Investment visa in Indonesia?
Aside from the pre-investment activities mentioned above, you can also:
- Travel around Indonesia for tourism purposes.

Requirements to Obtain the Multiple Entry Pre-Investment Visa
- Scanned colour copy of the foreigner’s passport with a minimum of 12 months validity of the passport (the identity page).
- Personal bank account with a minimum amount of USD 5,000 or equivalent for at least 3 3-month period.
- Latest colour photograph
- Address in Indonesia
- Information/invitations/correspondence from government agencies or private institutions explaining the relationship with applicants.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Travel Itinerary.
