Residency and Visa Validity

The Indonesia Diaspora Visa is intended for diaspora applicants who were previously Indonesian citizens and have since acquired foreign nationality.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate previous Indonesian citizenship through supporting documentation and satisfy the visa application requirements established by the Directorate General of Immigration.
This visa provides a structured pathway for former Indonesian nationals living abroad to legally return and establish long-term residency in Indonesia.
Visa Application Requirements
To support your visa application, applicants are generally required to prepare the following documents:

- Passport valid for at least 12 months
- Recent colour photograph
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Travel itinerary (if applicable)
- Previous Indonesian identity documents, such as:
- Indonesian Identity Card (KTP)
- Family Card (Kartu Keluarga)
- Indonesian Birth Certificate
- Indonesian Passport
- Indonesian education certificate or Indonesian land certificate
- Statement of commitment to complete one of the approved investment options within 90 days after entering Indonesia, including:
- Purchase of Indonesian Government Bonds valued at USD 50,000
- Purchase of shares listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange valued at USD 50,000
- Investment in Indonesian mutual funds valued at USD 50,000
- Molina Immigration System username and password
- Additional documents requested by Immigration where applicable

Investor KITAS

Investor KITAP
Foreign investors who have held an Investor KITAS for at least two consecutive years may become eligible to apply for an Investor KITAP, providing a renewable five-year permanent stay permit and greater long-term residency certainty.

Yes. In certain circumstances, eligible E32C Ex-WNI holders may apply for an onshore change of immigration status without leaving Indonesia. The availability of an onshore application depends on the purpose of stay, the visa category, and the prevailing regulations issued by the Directorate General of Immigration.
Can I apply for a Work Visa while holding an Indonesia Diaspora Visa KITAS?
Yes. If you intend to work in Indonesia, you may apply for the appropriate Work Visa and work authorisation. Depending on your circumstances, it may not be necessary to leave Indonesia before changing your immigration status, provided you meet the applicable immigration requirements.
Can I enter Indonesia using the Indonesia Diaspora Visa?
Yes. Once your e-Visa under Index E32 has been approved, you may enter Indonesia and complete the immigration process to obtain your Izin Tinggal Terbatas (KITAS). The visa is specifically intended for ex-Indonesian citizens returning to establish long-term residency.
Is the Indonesia Diaspora Visa a KITAS?
Yes. The Indonesia Diaspora Visa is issued under Index E32 and becomes an Izin Tinggal Terbatas (KITAS) after you arrive in Indonesia and complete the immigration process. Can I obtain an Indonesian Identity Card (ID Card) with this visa?
