Kazakhstan Can Enter Indonesia With Visa on Arrival

The Directorate General of Immigration issued Circular Letter Number IMI-0018.GR.01.01 Year 2023 which added Kazakhstan to the list of countries receiving Visa on Arrival facilities on Wednesday (18/01/2023). The VoA and e-VoA policies were mentioned to be a special gift on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan.

By adding Kazakhstan to this list, the beneficiary countries of this facility now become 87 nationals. Before the new regulations, there were already 86 countries that were granted a benefit from Visa on Arrival, according to the new Circular Letter Number IMI-0018.GR.01.01 – 2023 the 87 countries are now eligible for e-VoA.

About Indonesia Visa on Arrival

The visa on Arrival ( VoA ) is a scheme that helps simplify many nationals’ access to travel to Indonesia which has been open in early 2022 after Indonesian borders were closed due to the pandemic. As an alternative to Tourist Visa, Visa on Arrival can grant foreigners 30 days of stay and is mostly referred to be the easiest entry permit to apply for directly upon their arrival.

The visa provides foreign nationals with an initial 30-day visa to Indonesia. The visa is also extendable for a further 30 days, granting a maximum stay of 60 days within the country.

To apply for a VoA, you can ask the Immigration officer or straight look for the BRI counter (Official Bank of Indonesia) upon your arrival and make the payment for the visa application on the spot. We recommend you prepare IDR 500,000 IDR or USD 35 as the best option.

On November 2022, the Indonesian government initiated a new regulation about the electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) that is eligible for 26 countries, on the 18 of January 2023 Immigration decided to provide E-VOA to 89 countries that are in the VoA list. This was great news for foreigners entering Indonesia who can essentially skip the VoA queue. Of the 87 countries the last country that has been added to the E-VOA list is Kazakhstan.

This move aims to further promote tourism and facilitate entry into Indonesia for citizens of these nations. Travellers from Armenia, Mozambique, and Tanzania can now conveniently obtain their visas upon arrival or through the online e-visa application system, making their visits to Indonesia smoother and more accessible.
