Types of Indonesia Visas for Business
If you are visiting Indonesia for business purposes, you will require a business sponsor prior to arriving in Indonesia. There are a variety of visas that you may consider such as Single Entry Business Visa, Multiple Entry Business Visa, Work KITAS, or Investor KITAS. Each visa has specific benefits and the choice will depend on your specific circumstances. All of the aforementioned visas are multiple entry visas, apart from the Single Entry Business Visa which only allows admittance to Indonesia once. Processing time will vary from visa to visa, but all will provide you with an e-visa prior to entry.

Types of Visas for Tourism
If you are looking to visit Indonesia for tourism purposes, there are several visa option which you can arrange prior to your flight to Indonesia. The most common tourism visas at this moment are:
The 30-day visa exemption visa is only available for foreigners from the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam.
Visa on Arrival (available for 86 nationalities presently. The VOA allows foreigners to enter Indonesia with non pre-arranged e-visa. Upon entry, you pay $35 for 30 days, which can be extended by a further 30 days. Find out everything you need to know here!
Single Entry Tourist Visa – This visa requires a sponsor and has a visa processing time of approximately 10 days. It allows the foreigner to stay in Indonesia for up to 180 days (inclusive of all extensions).

Indonesia’s Visa on Arrival (VoA) is a convenient option to travel to Indonesia and wish to obtain their visa upon arrival in Indonesia. It eliminates the need to apply for a visa in advance at an embassy or consulate, streamlining the entry process. The VoA is currently available for tourism or business purposes and allows a 30-day stay, which can be extended once for an additional 30 days.

The Directorate General of Immigration in Republic of Indonesia previously allowed onshore visa applications during the COVID-19 pandemic, but this policy was discontinued on June 27, 2023, with the issuance of circular IMI-0186.GR.01.01 TAHUN 2023.
Currently, most visa applications must be submitted at an Indonesian embassy or consulate in the applicant’s home country or country of residence.
There are a few different types of visas and permits relevant to doing business in Indonesia:
- Single-Entry Business Visa (SEBV): Valid for up to 60 days, with the possibility of four 30-day extensions within Indonesia.
- Multiple-Entry Business Visa (MEBV): Valid for 12 months, allowing for multiple entries and stays of up to 60 days per visit.
Other Visa Options:
- Working KITAS: Required for paid employment in Indonesia. It’s sponsored by an Indonesian company and comes with various requirements and restrictions.
- Investor KITAS: Available for foreign investors who meet certain investment criteria. It offers more flexibility than a standard Working KITAS.
Required Documents for Indonesia Tourist Visas
Documents for tourist visas will vary depending on which type of tourism visa you are applying for. For example, a Tourist Visa will require a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity, whereas a limited stay permit will require significantly more.

Multiple Visit Visa
If you are a traveller looking for a visa that includes a re-entry permit, without being employed or setting up a company, then we recommend the Multiple Entry Business Visa.
This particular visa type is one of our most popular services and allows foreigners to enter and exit Indonesia freely. It comes with a 1 – 5 year validity and is very quick for us to process. This visa is primarily for foreigners who travel to and from Indonesia frequently and has a maximum stay limit of 60 consecutive days within Indonesia, after which you will need to exit and re-enter the country.
