It’s best to apply for your visa within 30 days of your planned arrival in Singapore. To allow ample processing time, we recommend applying at least one week before your trip during the off-peak season and two to four weeks before during peak season (March to May).
Yes, the expiry date is included in the visa validity period.
You only need a new visa if you plan to travel to Singapore after your current visa has expired. If your travel date is within the validity period, you don’t need to reapply.
The validity period is printed directly on your visa.
Each visa application is assessed individually, and the granted validity period varies. It depends on factors like your nationality, purpose of visit, and supporting documents. To ensure your visa has sufficient validity for your trip, apply approximately 30 days before your intended arrival in Singapore.
If you have a connecting flight and your onward boarding pass, you can generally remain within the Changi Airport transit area without needing a visa. However, if you need to leave the transit area or are flying with a Low-Cost Carrier (LCC), you may need to clear immigration and obtain a visa. It’s crucial to confirm this with your airline before your journey.
A visa grants you permission to travel to Singapore and seek entry, but it doesn’t guarantee entry. Upon arrival, immigration officials may grant you a visit pass, which determines your allowed length of stay in Singapore. This duration may differ from your visa’s validity period.
You can appeal a visa rejection within one month of the decision. Submit your appeal through the Authorised Visa Agent who handled your original application. The appeal process usually takes around 14 working days, but it can vary depending on the complexity of your case. Each appeal is assessed on its own merits.
