Investor KITAP (Investor Permanent Stay Permit) - Who is it for and What are the benefits

The Investor KITAP (Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap), or Permanent Residence Permit, is a highly sought-after visa for foreign investors in Indonesia. It offers significant benefits, including a five-year validity period with the possibility of lifetime extensions. The Investor KITAP is for 5 – 10 years. Once you have the same sponsor (with no breaks) you can then opt to convert to a KITAP.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an Investor KITAP, foreign nationals must meet the following requirements:

  • Have held shares in an Indonesian company (PT PMA) for a minimum of four years.

  • Have possessed an Investor KITAS (Temporary Residence Permit) for at least four years prior to applying for the KITAP.

  • Apply for the KITAP from within Indonesia.

Multiple Re-entry Permit (MERP)

After two years of holding an Investor KITAP, those who plan to travel abroad and return to Indonesia will need to obtain a Multiple Re-entry Permit (MERP). The MERP is valid for two years and allows for multiple entries into Indonesia.
